Lay next to me
My sweet angel
I’m not feeling well

Slowly stroke my hair
Gaze at me with your peering eyes
That are able to see into my soul
Gently kiss my face
With lips that heal whenever they touch me

When I struggle
To see things clearly
When I struggle
To pick myself up
Or find my way

Tell me you won’t turn your back on me
When I act like a fool
Or make a mistake
Or hurt you or another
With my own misplaced pain

Tell me you love me
Tell me you adore me
Tell me you want me
Tell me that I give you what you want
Tell me that I give you what you need

And know that I love you with everything I am and ever will be

Then watch me
As I slowly fall asleep
And drift away to a place
Where it’s just you and me
Witness my peace
